No matter their politics, Los Angeles residents found themselves united. "It was a beautiful thing," said Brentwood resident Myles Berkowitz, commiserating with his neighbors on Montana Avenue. "Young, old, black, white — everyone was pissed off."

Reminds me of the time I got a flat tire on the 405 at night and a van full of guys in riot gear pulled up in a van, jumped out and started searching my car and asking questions. George W Bush's caravan was coming through. They didn't stop the traffic for him, they just had to make sure I wasn't a crazy. They let me stay on the side of the highway waiting for AAA. They left, AAA came, and I was gone before Bush's limo came through, unfortunately.
