I finally have a battery charger again, and I can upload a couple of photos now.
Mind you, these photos actually make the quilt look better than it is... Tomorrow I'll link these to my quiltstack blog, where hopefully I'll have more photos of the entire quilt. Then I want your honest reaction. The true colors of the quilt is the photo with the clean white fabric.
I just don't really enjoy doing this type of quilting... I'm not very good at drawing with a pencil, let alone a monster machine! This quilt is for Rita's son, a surfer. The colors are beautiful... I almost feel that the quilting has detracted from the fabrics themselves. With this type of quilt, I really struggle to come up with a design and to stay on track throughout the quilting.
Not sure I accomplished it this time. Again.
Will someone please bring me a girly quilt top that screams for feathers and tendrils and flowers?
My camera's battery died after after I shot two photos of the finished quilt. oh boy. I've somehow managed to lose the battery charger, but another is on its way in the mail, hopefully to arrive Wednesday. I'll be able to upload a few photos then, so please check back and tell me (honestly) what y'all think.
**Just for fun, I'll upload these two photos of the pre-quilted top itself. I sometimes print these out to doodle on the copies and get an idea of what quilting I'll do.
If you were quilting this twin sized quilt top, and wanted to give it an ocean feel, how would you quilt it?
And on another note ~ I tried to contact Rita today; no reply. Rita's home is up in LaCanada near where the Station Fire is raging out of control.
Please keep us all in your prayers, especially those fighting the fires.

I think I would do a feather pattern, but only put the feathers on one side. Then they would look like waves.
Buuuuut.... I'm not the amazing quilter, you are. :)
Waterworld or Surf's Up panto??
