We have been called to a 'service mission' to help addicts and their loved ones recover from addictions. These addictions include viewing pornography, smoking, drinking and drugs. Pornography is a terrible thing that is growing ever larger in our society. Dr. Hilton refers to pornography today as crack because of its instant availability and its deadly results.
Did you know that most boys have their first view of pornography about the age of eleven years old? You want to talk to your sons before this happens.. before it becomes a problem.
Pornography has become an overwhelming sewage problem in the world. It's touch and stench can be found everywhere. The only protection our children have is that which you give them.
I was listening to an LDS woman speak about the pornography industry. She had attended a large pornography convention in Las Vegas. The most pressing question there was how to grow the consumer base. The conclusion? Present pornography for women.
Our families take the full assault of this crippling attack. Below is a 13 minute video by Dr. Donald Hilton. The video was produced with an audience of young people in mind. He is an LDS neurosurgeon who has some very interesting things to say, in a scientific way, about pornography. After you've watched the film, you may want to have your sons and daughters watch the video again with you. Hopefully it will open the door to more easily speak to your children about this important subject. Because if you don't talk with your children about pornography, there are plenty of other people who would be happy to do so.

That was interesting, but I don't see any of my kids sitting through it. It was a little dry. Too bad they haven't made a version that is geared toward kids, because it is a good message.
Yes, some of it is dry... very informational, though. Andrew would enjoy the information re: the frontal lobe. How it works at the beginning and the story of ice cream/truck is a good explanation. Also that the frontal lobe changes physically is interesting.
Thanks Mom. I was just thinking last night that we need to talk to James specifically about pornography.
