No Fun Alone
I'm in Las Vegas for a two day class regarding the Intelliquilter (IQ) which is the special computer we purchased for my quilting business. The teacher, Helen, is a wonderful teacher, and very hip about the IQ. It's amazing to hear her explain things, and so I'm here to learn from the best.
It's not very fun being here by myself, though. I missed Brent in the car on the short drive here. We generally listen to a book on my IPod. I couldn't find an open radio station with which to hear the book. When he's driving, and I'm messing with the IPod, it works more smoothly. Same with directions. I had to catch the light flitting in and out of the car to read the directions, drive without crashing or embarrassing myself, find the hotel, check in alone, and then get ready to go to bed by myself.
Not much fun.
Hopefully tomorrow will be much better during the classes. We're being served lunch, and I'm antisocially hoping that no one suggests we all go to dinner at the end of the day. I don't want to go to dinner with these ladies. I just want to bring my IQ tablet to the class, enjoy each others questions and comments regarding quilting, and then go back to my motel when it's over.
And then begin again on Thursday.
After class I'll be leaving to go straight home. To my husband, daughter and cat. And the chickens, but they'll be asleep in their coop by the time I arrive home. I love my nice bed. I love my home. I love the people that live there.
I can hardly wait for these next two days to be done.

Reach out, make friends. You might be surprised that it's better not being alone.
