Do you kids remember this story? I had a VHS tape of this title, telling the story of Leslie Lemke. He was six months of age, left at a hospital by his mother, and expected to die soon. The baby was deaf, limp, non responsive and blind. Mae was a nurse, known for her charity who had taken in many children through the years. The hospital called her. Mae was told that this baby would soon die; would she care for it until then?
Mae stated "no baby comes to my house to die". Leslie grew and thrived in ways that the no one could never have dreamed. This is taken from a 1981 CBS news clip.
I just found the old VHS for sale, and am purchasing it.
