If dinosaurs had the same intelligence as our chickens, it's not surprising they died out. We had the hawk in our yard again, looking down at the hens from the side fence. Three of the hens had hidden under the rosemary plant, but then there was MoMo, squawking "HAWK ALERT!!!" at the top of her lungs, slowly walking to the rosemary. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, y'know? When I walked out to see what the commotion was, the hawk flew off. The chickens wouldn't come out from their hiding place without my coaxing; even then I had to stand there for ten minutes, calming and reassuring them.
However, the idea of chickens with tails is dumb. It would make a chicken more vulnerable to attack... and heaven knows the chicken is prey to everything that eats!
