I've just finished this cute cranberry colored hat for baby E*. Soft merino yarn to keep her warm this winter. Generally I wouldn't use this yarn for a child's item. Merino needs to be hand washed and laid flat to dry, and I know Mommy will do that. But hopefully this hat won't need to be washed too often... I wish I had known how merino wool pills before I bought the yarns. (I purchased several skeins for different projects.) However, nothing warms like real wool. So all in all, I'm happy. I hope E* and her Mommy are happy, also.
My last little hat I made up as I knitted along. This was adventuresome, to say the least. I'm happy with the way it looks. I used the same blue yarn as the preemie hat, but was afraid I'd run out of it, so I included some gray yarn as stripes. Makes it more interesting. Wouldn't the blue be a good match for baby M*s eyes? You can see just how small the preemie hat really is! I can definitely see an improvement in my knitting.

I love the hat! Ella will look so cute. And of course I will make sure to care for it properly. You are so talented!
