As you can see, they all love Elizabeth.

Twice a day, we take the chicks out of their cardboard brooder box in my laundry room (no washing clothes after the babies are asleep!)so they can run about in the back yard. Either Elizabeth, Cleo or I sit with them. There are hawks overhead and fat cats in adjoining yards.
They've begun to understand where they're going when I peel the screen off the top of their brooder. Four of the girls have learned to fly up and perch onto the side of the box, waiting impatiently to be carried outside. It's a precarious business! :)
Our little blondie, Lizzy, has also learned that when brought back inside to the box, she can hop out while we're distracted catching the rest of her sisters outside. Yesterday Lizzy hopped out of the brooder box, walked out of the laundry room, down the hallway to the kitchen, through the kitchen into the family room, and then out the sliding door to the backyard and her sisters.
I think she needs to be the last one into the brooder box.

Hmm, that Lizzie seems like a smart cookie. Or, you know, chickie. Anywho, that's so funny the way they are all over Elizabeth.
Sophie is never going to want to leave those chickies... she is going to be in heaven!
That's funny, Lizzie just made her way back outside. Like she just owns the place or somethin'!
they're staring to look like "real chickens," instead of little fluffy chick things. :) i wonder what our kids will think of them.
